What the Axiom MCP server can do

Authentication

Remote server uses browser OAuth (recommended). Agents without browser OAuth can send Authorization: Bearer <personal access token> plus x-axiom-org-id: <organization ID>, or pass ?org-id=<organization ID> in the URL. The local server uses an API token (AXIOM_TOKEN).

  • The hosted server runs in the US, so remote query results pass through US infrastructure
  • Write tools change your organization; deleteDashboard, deleteMonitor and deleteNotifier remove resources
  • Prompts are not available in the local setup
  • The services-* tools and investigate-service-topology need service map enabled for your organization
  • With OAuth the agent acts as your user, so set query cost limits on your roles
