What the Backblaze B2 MCP server can do

Authentication

B2 application key in B2_APPLICATION_KEY_ID and B2_APPLICATION_KEY. Backblaze recommends a non-master key scoped as narrowly as possible.

Options

Run with npx -y @backblaze-labs/b2-mcp, or install the .mcpb file from GitHub releases in Claude Desktop.
A destructive action policy can require confirmation, block, or allow such calls. Local use defaults to confirmation, hosted HTTP deployments default to blocking.
The policy also covers actions that weaken protection, such as clearing retention.
Bulk transfers use short-lived URLs, so file data bypasses the model and the server.

Good to know

Do not paste the application key into the chat.
The agent can never do more than the key allows.
