Authentication

OAuth 2.0 with Dynamic Client Registration (recommended), your own OAuth application, or an API key sent in the Close-API-Key and Close-Scope headers.

Options

  • Scopes: mcp.read (read only), mcp.write_safe (read and write), mcp.write_destructive (read, write and delete).
  • Setup guides for ChatGPT (official Close app), Claude, Claude Code, n8n, Cursor and VS Code.
  • The VS Code setup adds a read-only server.

Good to know

  • SSE is not supported. Use Streamable HTTP.
  • n8n only supports the mcp.read scope.
  • Claude's Connectors library entry for Close needs a paid Claude plan. Free Claude Desktop users can add it through Add Connectors.
  • Tool lists are on a separate page per scope and are not given here.
