Authentication

OAuth only. API key authentication is not available.

Options

  • Available on all plans. Third-party MCP client access is on by default for Free, Pro and Business workspaces and off by default for Enterprise.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http lovable "https://mcp.lovable.dev", or install the Lovable plugin.
  • Clients on localhost or 127.0.0.1 register automatically. Other clients may need a custom OAuth client.
  • render_project_widget appears in clients that support MCP Apps. import-claude-design-from-url appears in Claude clients only.

Good to know

  • Tool calls use real credits and edit real projects. create_project and send_message use standard Lovable credits; other tools are free.
  • query_database runs SQL with your full database permissions, including writes and schema changes.
  • deploy_project returns a live URL. On Free and Pro, anyone with the link can open the app unless website access is Invite only.
  • deploy_project is refused while the project has unresolved critical security findings.
  • workspace_view and draft visibility need Business or Enterprise.
