From Netdata's own MCP documentation.
Authentication
Netdata Cloud API token with scope:mcp, sent as Authorization: Bearer <token>. Local Agents and Parents use a local MCP API key as a Bearer token.

Options
- Cloud endpoint over stateless Streamable HTTP with visibility across all nodes in your space
- Every Netdata Agent or Parent (v2.6.0+) also serves MCP at http://YOUR_IP:19999/mcp (HTTP, SSE or WebSocket)
- Node, metric, function and alert discovery, metric queries with anomaly detection, metric scoring for root cause analysis, alert history and log exploration
- nd-mcp or mcp-remote bridges for stdio-only clients connecting to a local Agent
Good to know
- Netdata Cloud MCP needs a Paid plan and only sees nodes claimed to your Cloud space
- Pass the token in the Authorization header, not as a query parameter
- On a local Agent, a Child or standalone node only sees itself; function execution and log access across nodes need a Parent
- Tool names are not listed in the docs
