What the SAP Fiori tools MCP server can do

Authentication

None for the server itself. OData prompts use SAP system connections saved with the Connection Manager for SAP Systems VS Code extension.

Options

  • Runs over stdio with npx @sap-ux/fiori-mcp-server fiori-mcp. SAP recommends pinning a version instead of latest.
  • SAP recommends pairing it with @cap-js/mcp-server and @ui5/mcp-server, and publishes rules to add to AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md.
  • LOG_LEVEL sets logging (default error). Logs go to ~/.fioritools/fiori-mcp-server.log.
  • NODE_EXTRA_CA_CERTS handles OData servers with self-signed certificates.

Good to know

  • search_docs downloads an embedding model (about 86 MB) from Hugging Face on first use.
  • Modifying an app is a three step flow: list_functionality, get_functionality_details, then execute_functionality.
  • Usage telemetry is on by default. Set SAP_UX_FIORI_TOOLS_DISABLE_TELEMETRY=true to opt out.
