What the Tiger Data (Tiger Cloud) MCP server can do

From Tiger Data's own MCP documentation.

Authentication

Not described on the reference page. Install and start it with the tiger mcp commands in the Tiger CLI.

Options

  • Ships inside the open-source Tiger CLI.
  • read_only=all does not register mutating tools. read_only=prod keeps them but refuses calls against services tagged PROD.
  • In read-only mode, db_query rejects writes and DDL.
  • db_query results are truncated past mcp_max_rows (default 100) or a response size cap.

Tools (18 documented tools)

Good to know

  • service_create provisions billable infrastructure. service_resize affects billing and the service may be briefly unavailable.
  • Deleting a PROD service or updating its password needs MCP elicitation. If the client doesn't support it, the request is refused.
  • service_update_password generates the password itself and does not accept one.
  • Parameter names, types and required fields can change between Tiger MCP versions.
