What to know
- Announced on October 6, 2026 by Sierra; Meta and Sierra are developing it with industry partners.
- A personal agent discovers what a company offers, opens a session for its user as a guest or signed in, and the user grants read-only or write access.
- Sessions are built on OAuth, and the company decides what agents can do through its website, its APIs (MCP or OpenAPI) or its own agent.
- No specification, version or public repository is available yet; Sierra says v0.1 is due later in October 2026.
When to use it
Watch it if you run customer-facing agents or APIs and want consumer assistants to transact with your business. Build on MCP and OAuth today; PAP is expected to sit on top of them.
